eLearning platform –

Groundwork laid for new e-learning platform.

Over the past months, we have laid the groundwork for a new online learning platform. In the future, various content will be presented in the virtual environment of the Charité Academy.


Telemedical Network ANNOTeM Launched

The telemedical network aims to improve treatment of neurological emergencies in northeastern Germany.

Patients will receive care close to home with access to highly specialized medical centers. Run under the consortium leadership of the Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, the project is funded by the Innovation Fund of the Gemeinsamen Bundesausschuss (G-BA) with roughly seven million Euros.


Ulrich Dirnagl Wins Berlin Science Prize

The prize aims to promote outstanding scientific work in Berlin in a targeted manner.

Professor Ulrich Dirnagl, Director of Experimental Neurology at the Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin and Director of the Center for Stroke Research Berlin was awarded the 2016 Berlin Science Prize by the Berlin’s governing mayor. The distinction is accompanied by €40,000 in prize money. The prize, now being awarded for the ninth time, is the most prestigious award Berlin has to offer as a center for science and business. The award ceremony took place on 7 November in the ballroom of City Hall.

Matthias Endres

A New Member of the Leopoldina

Professor Matthias Endres has been admitted to the Leopoldina.

Professor Matthias Endres, Director of the Department of Neurology at the Charité and member of the CSB Board of Directors, was selected on 13 July 2016 to become a member of the Leopoldina. He will be actively involved in the neurosciences section. The Leopoldina is the German National Academy of Sciences and has represented German science on international committees since 2008 and independently addresses the scientific underpinnings of political and societal questions.
