ESO Summer School 2018

The 22nd ESO Stroke Summer School took place in Berlin, Germany from 10–14 September 2018.

Dear Colleagues

It was a great honor and pleasure to host the ESO Summer School 2018. The Summer School venues were located in the heart of Berlin on the historic Campus of the Charité and in its vicinity. Forty-five early-career stroke physicians from 27 countries came together in Berlin to attend an intensive Stroke School. During the week from September 10th to 14th, renowned national and international experts from various fields of stroke provided their expert knowledge to the young physicians with a particular interest in cerebrovascular diseases. The lectures and practical lessons covered a wide range of current issues pertinent to both clinicians and researchers in stroke medicine. Our social programme fostered further professional exchange and networking between the applicants themselves as well as with our faculty experts, among them the members of the ESO Executive Committee. We were proud to get very positive feedback from the participants, in particular for the very high quality of the presentations provided by our faculty. We feel that the 22nd ESO Summer School provided new insights and fruitful discussions for the next generation of stroke experts.
We would like to take the opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to all contributors, in particular to all members of our ESO Summer School 2018 faculty and our organising team, as well as to the sponsors for financial support, and to the ESO for logistical support. Most importantly, we would like to thank all the participants for their enthusiastic work ethic and active participation during this intensive week. You really made a great team. We wish you all the best for the future and hope to see you again. For those who could not join us this year, we strongly recommend applying for the 23rd ESO Summer School in Helsinki next year.
