Each year in the stroke units of all three Charité sites, approximately 2200 people with stroke are treated. About 70-75% of the patients suffer a manifest stroke, about 17-22% a transient ischemic attack and about 8% a hemorrhagic stroke.

Around 1200 patients per year take part in at least one clinical observation or interventional trial.

The SMO Trial Team and its partners continuously perform multiple (industry and non-industry) multi-center studies as well as observational, register and other patient-oriented studies at the three Charité sites.
