Henry Jarecki Chairman of an investment banking company and a faculty member at the Yale University School of Medicine Henry Jarecki is a legendary figure in the world of metals trading. A graduate of the University of Heidelberg Medical School, he spent more than a decade practicing psychiatry in the U.S., then left medicine in 1970 to enter the bullion business. He rose to a position of great prominence in the international bullion markets during the 1970s and early 1980s as a leading figure at the Mocatta Group, the world's largest gold and silver trading company, which he ultimately sold in 1986 to Standard Chartered Bank. Soon thereafter he formed Brody White, an international commodities brokerage company, which he subsequently sold to Société Générale in 1995. Jarecki, who was born in Stettin, Germany, served as a director of the FIA from 1979 to 1985. He was also a director of Commodity Exchange Inc., the National Futures Association and the Chicago Board of Trade. Currently he is the chairman of The Falconwood Corporation, an investment banking company with investments in a diverse range of businesses around the world. He also remains active in the world of psychiatry and is a faculty member at the Yale University School of Medicine.

Health Care System Expert

Ulf Fink has been involved in health system issues for many years. On the political front this included his activity as the Senator for Health and Welfare in Berlin from 1981 to 1989. He was also a parliamentary representative in the Bundestag and member of the Bundestag Health Committee from 1994 to 2002. Fink is also the founder of the WISO Group, together with which he not only carries out analyses and authors expert reports in the area of health and social policies and health system economics. He organizes health congresses of international significance such as the Capitol City Congress for Medicine and Health, which drew more than 8 000 visitors from the various specialities.
Ulf Fink is chairman of Health City Berlin (registered association), an organization which provides a platform for the exchange of ideas on the economics of the health system in Berlin-Brandenburg and brings together the area's most important decision makers. Along with other offices he has held in the health services, Fink's longstanding work as President of the Kneipp Association (registered association) from 1997 to 2009 deserves special mention. There he actively promotes a stronger support for health and prevention programs, initiating among other things the Prevention Law Working Group, with well-known experts from the health system. Complementary medicine is also a topic which has benefited for years from the former senator's active support. The most current example is the Kneipp Foundation Professorship for Natural Healing at the Berlin Charité.

Patent Law in Life Science and Chemistry

Dorothea v. Renesse (born 1968) studied Biology at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum majoring in biochemistry, immunology, microbiology and environmental analysis. Subsequently she worked at the Institute of Crop Science at the University of Kassel to then join the legal department of the International Plant Genetic Resources Institute (IPGRI) in Rome.
Dorothea v. Renesse is specialized in the field of life science and chemistry, consulting biotech start-up companies as well as national and international pharmaceutical and chemistry enterprises. She has particular expertise in developing patent portfolios for effective protection of drug inventions and medical products, also including supplementary protection certificates (SPC) and data protection. Her field of expertise covers patent due diligences, in/out licensing of IP and questions of employee invention law, too. Besides patent law in life science and chemistry Dorothea v. Renesse focuses on trademark law, including internet domains. Dorothea v. Renesse is active as author and speaker in matters of life science relating questions of patent law.

Former Head of Medicine and Health Policy Sanofi-Aventis Deutschland GmbH

After studying physics at university, Heinz Riederer received his PhD in biophysics and physical biochemistry. His career in the pharmaceutical industry began in 1982 with a subsidiary of the Pfizer Group. Since 1985, Riederer had been involved in various scientific and technical activities at Sanofi Aventis and its predecessor firm. As Head of Medicine and Health Policies at Sanofi-Aventis Germany GmbH he was responsible for medical and pharmaceutical issues which come up across the company's distribution network in Germany. Heinz Riederer retired July 2014.
